Lindsey’s Book Club Recommendations

I’ve always been a reader. There’s something special about snuggling up with a good book and escaping from reality for a bit with great characters that you just can’t put down! I have stayed up until 3am far too many times to finish a book because I just couldn’t wait until the next day to find out how it ends!

When it comes to picking a book, I go through phases. In my 20’s, at one point I read everything John Grisham and James Patterson for a good “who done it”. Then it was Nicholas Sparks for all the tear jerker love stories. In my 30’s I started to get more interested in personal growth and entrepreneurship so that opened up a whole new world of options! But I still love a good, quirky romance, my Kindle is filled with them!!

But first, decide how you prefer to consume the story or information. I feel like most people are either physical book readers or e-readers, they just have a preference! I think I'm in the minority on that because I like both! I like to hold a physical business or self-help book so I can make notes and highlight sections that really resonate with me! Where as when it's a mystery or a love story, those are my just-for-fun reading and I prefer those on my Kindle. I can pick it up anytime, read at night in bed and not keep my husband awake. They are also great for car rides or when you travel! Audio books are also an effective way to get in the info while doing something else. You can listen while exercising or working and when I do I really feel like I'm maximizing my time! My advice, try them all and find what works best for you! Once you do, you need a good list to pick from so when you finish one book you can easily start another.

Today I’m breaking down all my favorites in different categories, to hopefully help you with some ideas the next time you need a good read!

Just For Fun:

Samantha Chase Series

Melody Grace Series

When I read just for fun, I go for a cute love story and I prefer a series.  I love when the characters carry over to the next book because I always want to know what happens next!  Samantha Chase and Melody Grace are both writers I found on amazon and love.  Both have many multiple book storylines, with characters you will love.  These are easy to download, inexpensive (most are around $5) and you can take them with you anywhere on your e-reader.  I've read dozens of their books and haven't found one yet that I didn't love.

And for the kids in your life, mine are 10 and 12 years old and they also love to read! The next time you need a gift for a tween, these are some of their favorites too!

BONUS:

Kids Picks

Last Kids On Earth : Series

Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Series

Dangerous Book For Boys

 Daring Book For Girls

Harry Potter : Series

Baby Sitters Club: Series

I hope these give you some great ideas for cozy winter reading. Let me know in the comments your #1 top book recommendation, I'm always looking for my next good read! Happy reading sweet friends!
